Using Zoom with Dispatch
Setup, everyday use, and removal · BM Interactive Group
Dispatch is a desktop mail + calendar app for your Google account. When you connect your
Zoom account, Dispatch can attach a real Zoom meeting to any calendar event you create — and
keeps it in sync when the event changes. This guide covers adding, using, and removing the
Zoom integration.
Adding Zoom (one-time setup)
- In Dispatch, open Settings (gear icon at the bottom of the left rail).
- Find Integrations → Zoom and click Connect Zoom.
- Your web browser opens Zoom's sign-in and consent page. Sign in to your Zoom account and
click Allow.
- The browser returns you to Dispatch automatically. Settings now shows your connected Zoom
account.
What Dispatch asks Zoom for, and why: create a meeting (when you add Zoom to
an event), read it back (to show the join link), update it (when you reschedule), delete it
(when you delete the event), and read your basic profile (to show which account is
connected). Your Zoom sign-in happens with Zoom directly — Dispatch never sees your password,
and tokens are stored encrypted on your computer only.
Using it day to day
- Add a meeting: create or edit an event in Dispatch's calendar and choose
Zoom meeting as the conferencing option. A unique join link is created and
saved on the event — guests get it in their invitation.
- Join: click the join link on the event; it opens in Zoom.
- Reschedule: move the event and the Zoom meeting moves with it —
the same link keeps working.
- Delete: delete the event and Dispatch deletes the Zoom meeting too, so
orphaned meetings don't pile up in your Zoom account.
Removing Zoom
- In Dispatch: Settings → Integrations → Zoom → Disconnect. This deletes
the stored tokens from your computer immediately. Meetings already on your calendar are
left untouched.
- Optionally, also revoke the app on Zoom's side: go to
marketplace.zoom.us → Manage →
Installed Apps, find Dispatch, and click
Uninstall. This invalidates any previously issued tokens.
Troubleshooting
- The browser shows an error during connect: close the tab and click
Connect Zoom again — a fresh attempt issues a fresh sign-in link. Make sure you complete
the newest tab if several are open.
- Rescheduling shows a permissions error: disconnect and reconnect Zoom in
Settings — this refreshes the permissions grant.
- Anything else: see Support.
